Each course comprises between 100 and 250 practice resources, including a range of listening, vocabulary and pronunciation activities, language exercises, sample essays, web projects, and games. Each unit is linked to the Council of Europe 'Can Do' statements so students can chart their progress through the course. Students are encouraged to complete the MPO record of achievement, which complements the Council of Europe Portfolio, at the end of the course.

MPO general English courses are available in either American or British English and can be used as extra practice to support classroom work or any coursebook mapped to the CEFR levels.
