Getting started with Macmillan Practice Online
How do you get a Macmillan Practice Online course?
You can buy a course online here or if you have bought a Macmillan coursebook that came with a Macmillan Practice Online code, simply activate your code for free.
Can I try a course before I buy it?
Before buying a course you can take a tour to see how a Macmillan Practice Online course works.
How do I activate my code and access my course for the first time?
When you bought a course, you received an activation code in an email. If you can’t see the email, check your junk folder as the email might be there. You need to activate the code and set up a Macmillan Practice Online account. You only need to activate the code once.
You can activate a code by clicking on the blue ‘Activate a code’ button in the top-right of the homepage, here .
Enter the code in the first box then write the letters you see in the second box and click ‘Continue’.
Enter your details, including your email address and password, which you will use to log in later.
Click ‘Continue’ and confirm the course you want to activate.
I have purchased a course from macmillanpracticeonline.com. Why have I not received my activation code?
When you purchased your course, your code should have been emailed to you. If you have not received it, the email containing the code may have been filtered by the security settings on your email account. Therefore please check your spam/junk folders as well as your inbox as the email may have been filtered here. If you still cannot locate the code, please contact us with your order confirmation and/or details about when you purchased the course.
I have already activated my code, how do I log in?
You only need to activate your code once. If you have activated your code, you can log in by clicking the green ‘Log in’ button in the top right of the homepage here .
Enter the email address and password you chose when you activated your code and click ‘Log in’.
I already have a Macmillan Practice Online account, how do I add a new course?
To add a new course to your account, first log in as normal. On the left of the screen you will see the ‘Add a course’ button. Click on it and then enter your new activation code in the box that appears and click on ‘Add course’. The course will then be available in your Macmillan Practice Online account.
My code doesn’t work, why?
A Macmillan Practice Online code has 3 letters and 12 numbers like this: MPO123456789012. If you enter your code and can't activate it, you will receive one of these messages:
‘Please enter a valid code’
Make sure you are using a Macmillan Practice Online code, which starts with letters MPO and is followed by numbers, like this: MPO123456789012.
If you are using a valid code, your code may have already been activated. You only need to activate your code once. If you have already activated your code, log in by clicking the green ‘Log in’ button on the homepage and entering your email address and password you chose when you activated your code.
'There is a problem with your submission. Could not find that subscription_code.'
If this message appears, check the code and re-enter it, making sure there are no extra spaces.
'There is a problem with your submission. Captcha not correct.'
The Captcha is the verification letters you entered. If you see this message, re-enter your code and the new verification letters you are given.
Where do I log in to my course?
To log into your course go to www.macmillanpracticeonline.com and click on 'Log in' in the top right corner. Enter the email address and password you chose when you activated your course code.
I can’t log in, why?
If you are unable to log in, you will receive this message:
‘The user ID or password that you entered was not recognized’
This means that either the email address or password you entered were incorrect. Please try again to enter the details.
If you have forgotten your password, click on the green ‘Log in’ box on the homepage and then ‘Forgotten your password?’. You can then have your password emailed to you (check your junk mail if you cannot see your reminder email in your inbox).
Can I activate and complete more than one Macmillan Practice Online course at the same time?
Yes, you can have more than one Macmillan Practice Online course active.
Log in to you Macmillan Practice Online account as normal. On the left of the screen you will see the ‘Add a course’ button. Click on it and then enter your new activation code in the box that appears and click on ‘Add course’. The course will then be available in your Macmillan Practice Online account.
